This weekend myself and a few friends visited my family flat in the beautiful village of Kingswear. Brook hill has been in the family for three generations and it’s the perfect place to escape to when you just want to get away from it all.
Overlooking the River Dart, it’s one of my favourite places to come to and I instantly feel relaxed as soon as I step out onto the balcony and drink in the view.
Just a short ferry ride away, you will find yourself in the quaint town of Dartmouth, with its vibrant coastal charm. Pretty boats line the estuary and cobbled streets are filled with art galleries, cafes and boutique shops, ready to be explored by all those that visit.
The Dolphin inn is a great place to drink with the locals and where you can get your hands on a Kilo of the most delicious fresh mussels I’ve ever tasted. I also always make sure to grab some fish and chips from the famous Rockfish restaurant and sit out to watch the world go by.
For breakfast, Cafe Alf Resco is the place to go to for your morning coffee fix and you just can’t beat the taste of the authentic homemade fudge found in Edwards Fudge Kitchen.
I’m so lucky to have a place like this I can come too whenever I need a break from day to day life and I hope Brookhill stays in the family for generations to come!
Till next time Kingswear…
